El Olivar is a very special, two story, four bedroom home on 11 acres of land in the beautiful region of Umbria Italy.
Entering the property on a drive flanked by giant pines and a working olive grove will give you the first indication that you are somewhere that just may live up to the picture of Italy that you have in your head. Entering the front door will confirm it for you. You will be looking at a patio that offers spectacular views of a lush green valley, medieval hilltop villages, the Tiber river and the ancient archaeological site of Ocriculum, where it is possible to admire the remains of baths, an amphitheater, tombs and a section of an ancient Roman road. Whether your desire is to have quiet, private evenings enjoying meals that you cook followed by drinking the local wines on the patio or afternoons to swim, read and relax at the pool or opportunities to explore the Umbrian countryside and visit Italian towns that will charm and enchant you……..all is possible. Towns such as Otricoli, Narni, Orvieto & Terni are all within 30 minutes from the villa. Venture just a bit further to visit Montefalco where you can find beautiful wines, many of which never leave Italy. A day trip to Assisi, Spello or Spoleto is the perfect way to collect beautiful Umbrian experiences that you will talk about for a lifetime. El Olivar is the ideal place to spend your holiday while experiencing Italy at it’s very best!
You'll enjoy preparing your breakfast in El Olivar's bright and well equipped kitchen. The pantry will be stocked with essential items (coffee, tea, milk, sugar, bottled water, condiments etc.) before your arrival. Having the choice to enjoy your breakfast at either the table in the kitchen, on the patio or in the dining room will add to the feeling of being in your own home during your stay with us.
On El Olivar's 11 acre grounds, you have one hundred olive trees and a large vegetable garden. During your stay with us you will enjoy dining using the organic extra virgin olive oil from our grove and fresh organic vegetables that can go from garden to your plate in less than an hour.
For those summer days when you aren't out exploring the sights of Umbria you can enjoy time at the pool. Our 8x5 metre pool is located in our olive grove where you will be surrounded by lavender and rosemary bushes. This will provide you with the perfect opportunity to cool off with a refreshing swim, read or to just simply lounge in the sun.
Robust wifi exists throughout the house on both floors, in all bedrooms and on the patio. A smart LCD television makes it possible to spend cozy evenings watching your favorite Netflix movies. There are SONOS wireless speakers in both the upstsairs and downstairs living rooms so you can enjoy playing all your favorite Spotify playlists.
Your stay will be self-catering with some assistance from our caretakers who live on the property in an apartment attached to the house. They are there to keep everything working, watch over the villa and to support you during your stay. They will change linens and towels, take away the trash, clean the pool each morning, sweep the patio and keep firewood stocked at the fireplace.
Our caretaker’s wife is an excellent cook and for a small fee she can make an authentic Italian dinner for you. You just need to tell her at least a day in advance what you want so she can buy the ingredients. For things like tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, onions, arugula and green beans those will be picked fresh directly from our garden.

We stayed in stunning Villa E Olivar for 4 nights and absolutely loved it. A very elegant & and well appointed home away from home, the very spacious and beautifully decorated vila provides excellent comfort, full privacy and magnificent views in an idyllic setting. The pool is a star attraction amongst the mature olive grove and well tended garden. The nearby country side is a backdrop for outdoor walks and ancient history. Very impressive Villa and the owners are courteous and professional hosts. All in all a very enjoyable experience in Umbria.
