Cascata delle Marmore

It would seem unlikely to have the world’s tallest man-made waterfall almost in your backyard but such is the case when you are staying at El Olivar. A short 35-minute drive gets you to the 165 metres (541 feet) waterfall created when the Romans diverted a river over a cliffside in 54 BC. The falls have three sections and hiking to the bottom and back fits nicely into a day trip that will find you back at El Olivar for wine and cheese before the afternoon ends.
