Norcia

It is often said that there are three places in the world that you want to be when the flowers are blooming, Provence France to see the lavender, Holland when the tulips are blooming and Norcia Italy from June to July when thousands of poppies, violets, daffodils, buttercups and clovers fill the plateaus below the small town of Castelluccio (population 150) which sits in the Apennine mountains at 1452 metres overlooking great plains on the edge of Mount Sibillini National Park. In addition to its natural beauty Norcia is legendary for it’s cured hams, lentils and black truffles. A two-hour drive from El Olivar gets you to this beautiful area where hiking, biking, horseback riding and hang gliding are all activities available for you to enjoy.
